去年中電公佈盈利預警，內容提及旗下澳洲電力業務EnergyAustralia遠期合約的公平價值出現大幅度不利變動，以至截止2022年6月30日的中期業績，澳洲業務錄得鉅額未變現虧損超過79億港元。本篇文章將以簡報形式預測中電手持的遠期合約的價格變化，結論預期中電2022年的全年業績，遠期合約的虧損預期將大幅降低，令到全年業績大幅好轉。
CLP announced a profit warning last year. The warning was referred to its unrealised loss due to substantial unfavourable fair value movements on forward contracts of its subsidiary company EnergyAustralia. As at the Interim Result ending 30 June 2022, EnergyAustralia recorded a huge unrealized loss of more than HK$7.9 billion. This article will forecast the fair value movements of CLP’s forward contracts. The conclusion is that CLP’s financial performance would probably be substantially improved at the coming Annual Result for financial year ended 2022. The reason behind would be expected substantial decrease in unfavourable fair value loss (after tax) due to fair value movements on forward contracts of EnergyAustralia.
